What's that?

The Gui GTK2 GameName is a clone of the GameName Program written by Gurth for Windows. It can be used to generate random names (either compleately random or taken from the original *.nam files). I did not include all features of the original program (no animated window title - sorry), but it does it's job.

To run the binary from this page you need

a X11 based Linux (it's compiled at a SuSE 9.0 box)
the original GameName, or at least the *.nam files (you can get it from plastic.dumpshock.com)
the GTK2 libs (www.gtk.org).

That should be all, if not please contact me so I can update this list.

To install it, just extract the tar file to some dir of your choice and run the binary (gamename). I have not jet figured out the way to use make with the GTK2 bindings and therefore there are currently no RPMs.

To compile the sorce you'll need

the Free Pascal Compiler (www.freepascal.org)
the GTK2 units for FPC (have a look at sourceforge.net and search for "gtk2forpascal")
the developer packages of GTK2

I compiled the program with FPC version 1.9.6, if you use another compiler, you may have to alter the code.
